Funding

As well as the income we receive from hiring our community rooms, our trustees are constantly working behind the scenes applying for grants (none repayable) and securing opportunities for fundraising to help keep the centre open. Below we have shown all funding received for the previous years. Here’s an over view of our success from the past 12 months, together with details of how you can help:

Our main focus this year was to continue to make the Centre sustainable by being able to manage significant energy cost rises. We have achieved this by replacing our main boiler system with a highly efficient hybrid system which incorporates modern technology, environmentally efficient devices and high quality computer control

The Co-op Community fund has been very helpful in assisting trustees to continue the Wellbeing Tuesdays at the centre. Ian Rudd, treasurer, received the cheque for £2,878 from the local Co-op manager on 18 November 2024. Thanks to all Coop members who supported us.

Thanks to all of the Grant Providers named on this page who have delivered funding to ensure the Community Centre is able to support everyone. Energy efficiency was at the top of our agenda plus the need to upgrade our office IT system. We were able to run two Warm/ Welcome Spaces events and continue Wellbeing Tuesdays.

Once more thanks to all of the Grant Providers named on this page who have delivered funding to ensure the Community Centre is able to continue its support for the community. Following Covid, we were in a position to launch a Jubilee event to bring fun back for all, add recommended energy efficiencies to improve our energy use and reduce costs and continue with our Wellbeing Tuesdays.

Excellent news the Association has received additional funding. Thank you to Durham AAP for allowing us to continue this successful and much needed programme for a further six months with a grant of £5,500.

We are always grateful to all of the Grant Providers named on this page who have delivered funding to ensure the Community Centre is able to continue its work in supporting our local community. The focus this year was on our Wellbeing programme as people who had suffered social isolation and loneliness were our priority.

The Co-op Community fund has been very helpful in assisting trustees to develop the information screens in the centre. Ian Rudd, treasurer, received the cheque for £4906 from the local Co-op manager on 20 November 2021. Thanks to all Coop members who supported us.

We are immeasurably grateful to all of the Grant Providers named on this page who have delivered funding to ensure the Community Centre is still here after the Covid pandemic. Thank you to all of them – please see our News & Social and Corporate supporters pages for further details. Covid safety was our priority this year as you would expect.
